Our Story
Hi, my name is Heather, I am a wife, mother, and nurse. Since 2019, I have been creating products for my family including soap, shampoo, conditioner, laundry soap and lotions. I have used many sustainable ingredients grown and raised on our Vermont homestead or by local friends including lard and tallow, soon this will include goat milk also! These products are inspired by old traditions with a twist of essential and fragrance oils for scent and subtle colors. We also have a line of unscented and uncolored products.
Working as a nurse I have noted those that have aged well and the commonality in these folks is that they grew up on farms, worked hard for what they had, and did not eat or use products on their bodies that differed greatly from nature. They ate a balanced diet including meat and used the byproducts of these animals for skin care and cooking.
Sepia Sunflower makes everything in small batches from our homestead on five acres in Vermont. Most products include goat milk and my personal favorite sunflower oil. All products are used within my household first. I have collected the opinions of my husband and three sons to determine which products to market, turning my hobby into a small business.
